New edition of the Pöschl Glass Art Prize / Exhibition until November 9

GEISENHAUSEN // After ten years, a renowned glass art prize is back: the “Snuff Glass Award” was presented again at the “Haus zur Wildnis”. Guests and artists can experience an exhibition in the visitor center that impressively presents the diversity of craftsmanship and tradition in the Bavarian Forest.

As announced by Pöschl Tabak, the “Gletscherprise Glass Art Award” has been relaunched this year as the “Snuff Glass Award” after a long break.

The award ceremony recently took place at the “Haus zur Wildnis” in Lindberg. Host Josef Wanninger and Gunter Fruth, principal of the Zwiesel Glass College, opened the event with words of welcome and a laudatory speech. Katharina Pöschl, Managing Partner of Pöschl Tabak, and District President Rainer Haselbeck then presented the awards to the winners.

A total of 74 works of glass art, known as “Bixl”, were submitted and exhibited immediately after the award ceremony. Over 120 guests attended the award ceremony.

The jury awarded prizes in the categories “Arts and Crafts” and “Art and Design”. In addition, a special prize was awarded under the motto “Forest with a future”. A total of 14 prize winners were honored. According to the company, all exhibits can be viewed free of charge in the “Haus zur Wildnis” daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. until November 9.
