13. November 2025

InterTabac and InterSupply score again with over 800 exhibitors and eleven halls

August 1978. Two days. 78 exhibitors. Halls 6, 7, 8 and the North Entrance do not yet exist. Vaping, heat-not-burn, pouches – all foreign words. September 2025. Three days. Over 800 exhibitors from almost 70 countries. A total of eleven halls are occupied. Classic products such as cigars, pipes and cigarettes are still well represented, but alternative products are no longer foreign words. It is a remarkable development that InterTabac has undergone. Today, September 18, marks the start of the 45th edition of the world’s leading trade fair for the tobacco industry. And Dortmund is becoming the showcase for an increasingly diverse industry.

Dortmund, 18.09.2025 – “The 45th InterTabac. In the year of our company’s 100th anniversary. We have already received so many congratulations and thanks from the international tobacco industry in the run-up to the event. Now it’s time to give back. And the figures show that we have a lot to offer the industry. Exhibitors from all over the world travel to Dortmund to show their latest products. Almost 80 percent come from abroad – another increase. In addition, there are strong, traditional companies from Germany that are taking the opportunity to present themselves here to both an international audience and the important German specialist trade,” says Sabine Loos, Managing Director of the Westfalenhallen Group, at the start of the trade fair. “Top-class speakers will share their knowledge in the conference program. Exciting events provide additional opportunities for networking. I believe that, together with our partners, we have succeeded in creating an ideal environment for gathering inspiration and knowledge, closing deals and expanding networks. Factors that are crucial for this dynamic, diverse and future-oriented industry.”

The exhibitors include major and renowned players in the industry as well as newcomers and InterTabac newcomers. They come from all over Germany, from European countries such as Italy, France, Poland, the Czech Republic, the Benelux countries, Sweden and Spain, but also from the UK, the USA, the United Arab Emirates, the Dominican Republic and China, for example. Halls 4 and 7 are traditionally home to companies from the cigar segment, including von Eicken, Kleinlagel, VCF J. Cortes, J.C. Newman, House of Grauer, Kopp Tobacco, Fuente Cigars, Casa Turrent, Maya Selva and Villiger Söhne. Notorious Cigars – the brand of MMA superstar Conor McGregor – will be there for the first time. VIP guest travels to Dortmund from the USA

LA FLOR DE ZAIDA, a cigar manufacturer from Las Vegas, even brought along celebrity support for the company’s trade fair appearance: Bodybuilding and film star Ralf Möller, known from films such as “Gladiator”, “The Scorpion King” and “The Tourist” and also for his passion for cigars, was a guest at the company’s stand in Hall 4 (Stand A16) on Thursday from 10 am to 1 pm.

Among the exhibitors of classic smoking products such as cigarettes, pipes and pipe tobacco are VAUEN, Landewyck, Lex Tobacco, Maans Nirdosh and Swan Valley International. Their stands are mainly located in Halls 4, 5, 7 and 9, while Hall 8 is mainly dedicated to shishas, water pipes and smoking accessories. The diverse world of next-generation products is growing

These include companies presenting the increasingly popular nicotine pouches: ICE, the Altria Group, Luna Corporate, Denssi and Dholakia , for example. InterSupply once again with great internationality

Hall 3 is a magnet for all trade visitors interested in the entire process chain for manufacturing tobacco products, e-cigarettes, water pipes and accessories. Since 2015, InterSupply has officially complemented InterTabac as an independent trade fair. Since then, it has developed into an internationally important meeting place for buyers, product developers, plant and factory managers, packaging designers, engineers and other players in the tobacco and smoking product manufacturing industry. This year, more than 150 exhibitors will be present. Around 90 percent of them are coming from abroad. Whether the USA, Paraguay, Brazil, Singapore or China – in addition to a large number of European nations, exhibitors from Asia and the American continents will dominate the picture. Exhibitors include Universal Leaf Tobacco, the Tembogroup, Körber Technologies and Hertz & Selck. Numerous companies with premieres in their luggage

InterTabac and InterSupply are not only a meeting place for the industry, a platform for political and knowledge exchange and a showcase for the industry’s innovations. They are also the framework that top international companies use to present their latest trends to a specialist audience for the first time. The world’s leading trade fair for the tobacco industry is increasingly being used to celebrate premieres and product launches.

Valentino Siesto Cigars has announced an exclusive unveiling for the trade fair. A brand new format. And all that is known are these keywords: short, intense, yellow. Kopp Tobacco presents a new limited series of pipe tobacco. The Meerapfel family presents the Family Reserve Brands: five brands that each tell their own story. Villiger Söhne celebrates the premiere of “La Capitana” and honors the women who work hard in all areas of the company. M.K. & Söhne is presenting the Rocky Patel Emerald as a German premiere. And the Vandermarliere Cigar Family VCF is launching the Plasencia Alma del Cielo, the first vitola from the highest growing regions of Nicaragua, on the European market. Maya Selva will present the Flor de Selva Salomón 30 Años for the first time, celebrating the company’s 30th anniversary. Natura Cigars will be celebrating with the Petite Altura, which is made from tobaccos grown on the company’s own farm 1350 meters above sea level. And Artista Cigars is presenting the Artista Mini Club, among other new products. The series is produced in Artista’s new cigar factory, which uses restored vintage machines from the mid-20th century.

Something is also happening with cigarettes: Hermann Hauser is working on the German market with ESSE, a new, slim cigarette. Philip Morris International wants to meet the demand for an affordable premium cigarette with Marlboro Crafted. And British American Tobacco is bringing the Luckies Crafted 1871 to InterTabac with similar intentions. At Landewyck (7.B16), the Rothfuchs rolling tobacco is celebrating a comeback.

Innovations in the NGP sector include, for example, a brand new product from Zippo: the lighter specialist is presenting a small e-cigarette that fits perfectly into the casing of one of the traditional Zippos. FAV Tech Limited is presenting FAV, a hybrid electronic nicotine delivery system that combines heat-not-burn technology with a vaping device. And First Union will also be presenting a new vaping brand. At InterSupply, Senzani Brevetti will be presenting a new product: U-Seal, the new patented cold-sealing technology. According to the company, this is a revolution in the industrial product packaging market.

Successful premiere of the Cigar Culture Summit the day before

This year, InterTabac and InterSupply began with a premiere of a special kind one day before the official start. Not with a product premiere, however, but with a new event: together with The Cigar Academy from the USA, Messe Dortmund organized the Cigar Culture Summit and thus served one of the core segments of the trade fair. With strong partners and leading personalities from the international cigar world, the summit’s program provided impulses for participants from all areas of the industry – from manufacturers, suppliers and retailers to cigar clubs and specialist retailers. Five hours of conference program, divided into three streams, not only provided in-depth technical insights, but also lively discussions and an important exchange among industry insiders. These discussions were deepened at the evening Cigar Reception, an exclusive networking event.

Fittingly, two works of art made by New York artist Robert Glick created especially for the fair. They are on display at the entrance to Hall 4 during the fair. Robert Glick works with cigar bands and honors the 45th edition of InterTabac on the one hand and the company’s 100-year history on the other with these two works. The American artist uses the banderoles to create unique works of art that celebrate cigar culture. “I am honored to celebrate the centennial of the Westfalenhallen and the 45th edition of InterTabac with these two works of art. For me, the creation of these artworks is not just a gesture – it is a heartfelt tribute to two institutions that have shaped the global cigar community, connecting makers, collectors, artisans and aficionados alike,” explained Robert Glick.

Side events offer exclusive platforms for the NGP industry

Two further side events on the first two days of the trade fair will be dedicated to new products. Both are the result of event premieres last year. On Thursday evening, the PouchXchange a central platform for exchange between experts, manufacturers, suppliers and retailers in the field of novel nicotine and modern oral products. Following the positive feedback from 2024, the concept of the event has been expanded to include innovative impulses such as live pitches and speed dating with industry experts. Fredrik Schauman, CEO of Wellgio Medical Oy Ltd, to which sponsor ICE belongs, explains the importance of such events: “For many of us in this industry, the work is intense and demanding. That’s why events like this are so important – they give us the opportunity to take a step back, connect with each other and combine a bit of fun with meaningful networking.” The Global Institute for Novel Nicotine (GINN) is participating as a knowledge partner.

Friday evening will see the second presentation of the InterTabac World Alternative Awards. Together with The Vaping Group, the publisher of “Alternative” magazine, awards will be presented in 14 categories at a festive gala event. The categories cover the entire diversity of the NGP industry: Best HNB Product of the Year, Best Open Pod System of the Year, Best Closed Pod System, Best E-Liquid, Best Juice Flavor, Best Pouch Product, Best Pouch Flavor, Best Nicotine Innovation, Best Alternative Product, Best Branding & Marketing, Best Product Manufacturer, Alternative Magazine Legacy Award, Best Innovation and Best Newcomer.

On Friday from 3 to 5.30 pm, the following topics are on the agenda: NGP regulations in China and on the US market, a global trend report on e-cigarettes and a market analysis on nicotine pouches in China.
