Cannabis Business Expo: The conference program is set and covers the relevant industry topics

13. November 2025

The focus is on legislation, cultivation and medicinal cannabis.

Parallel to InterTabac and InterSupply, the Cannabis Business Expo and Conference (CB Expo) will return to Dortmund from September 18 to 20. The trade fair is one of the most important meeting places for the European cannabis industry and offers a central platform for all players – from cultivation to the end product. The program of the conference is now known – and available online.

Dortmund, 14.08.2025 – Guests from the cannabis, tobacco and vape industry can expect a diverse and highly topical conference program. In particular, the recently announced intention of the Federal Minister of Health to restrict remote prescriptions and the online distribution of medical cannabis is currently causing a lot of discussion – also at CB Expo. Most of the CB Conference program will be in English – with the exception of events on topics that are limited to Germany.

CanG and MedCanG – what’s next in Germany?
The Cannabis Act (CanG), which has been in force since April 1, 2024, will be comprehensively evaluated in the fall. Even before the official go-ahead for this process has been given, the threat of restrictions on telemedicine and the mail-order business is already causing considerable unrest. These developments will also be the focus of the conference – with contributions from Dirk Heitepriem (President of the Branchenverband der Cannabiswirtschaft e.V., BvCW), Dr. Christiane Neubaur (President of the Verband der Cannabis versorgenden Apotheken e.V., VCA) and Prof. Dr. Bernd Werse, Head of Addiction Research at the University of Frankfurt, among others.

Deep Dive Stage – Focus on cultivation and the cultivation associations
The Deep Dive Stage is dedicated to the scientific examination of cannabis cultivation. Renowned researchers from Germany and abroad, led by Sonny Moerenhout (The Cultivators), present current studies and findings on plant cultivation. For growers’ associations, Marcus Geschwandtner (Grow Up! Consulting) and Dirk Rehan (Drehandel), the brains behind the Cannabis Competence Days, will offer a comprehensive workshop covering practical topics such as building permits, financing and the ban on advertising.

More than “just” cannabis
The CB Conference also offers visitors to InterTabac and InterSupply valuable insights – for example on industry topics such as standards, human capital and CBD. The CB Reception on Thursday evening from 7 p.m. – the traditional dinner at the end of the first day of the trade fair and conference – offers an opportunity for personal exchange.

List of exhibitors is filling up
The list of exhibitors at CB Expo is also filling up. Among the exhibitors who will be presenting in Dortmund in Hall 9 are the two Spanish companies Snorkel Spain (Royal Queen Seeds) and Anesia Seeds (Ruperts farm), both of which specialize in seeds. Other exhibitors include Emerald Green Technology from the USA (CBD products), ESA-Test GmbH from Eisenach, Germany, Folar Tech Limited (vaporizers, among other things) and Shenzhen Winstar Packaging Co.
